Because vitamin c is vital for so many chemical reactions within the body the RDA is not enough and never will be. It is irresponsible to say that one specific dose is adequate for all human beings. When the fact is that we all have different needs depending on things like genetics and toxin exposure. What makes ascorbic acid dosing amazing is we are able to take as much as we can and our body will have a limit when loose bowels are produced. That is the perfect amount for each individual. One person can take 10 grams daily while another needs upwards of 100 grams.

Scientific literature showing the miraculous benefits and healing powers of vitamin c are all done using ascorbic acid. Whole food c is rarely, if ever, used during studies. Because it is not what primates once produced and it is not as safe as ascorbic acid.
